Doggone Greetings began in April 2007 as a creative outlet for the collection of dog photos taken over the years by Dawne Doyle. Dawne has been taking dog photographs for over forty years, but readily admits she’s gotten a lot better at it since the time she and her sister dressed up the family dog in a Halloween costume for their first photo shoot when they were kids. In the past eight years, Dawne has taken hundreds of dog photos, many of them in fabulous costumes. While she has readily shared her photos with friends and family, her many fans, both local and international, have finally convinced her to make them available to the public. She and her sister, Kim, who still shares the love of dogs and photography with Dawne, have teamed up with artist friend and fellow dog lover, Carolynn Cobb, in creating DoggoneGreetings.com. |

As long as she can remember, Dawne has loved dogs. All dogs! Dawne lives on a farm in south Texas and says it is absolute heaven because she not only has beautiful country to photograph, but gets to share it every day with her pack. Dawne is presently “owned by” a band of sassy Cocker Spaniels, an Irish Setter, and two Irish Red and White Setters. While cockers and setters presently have her heart, over the years she has been enamored by both mixed breeds and pure breeds of all shapes and sizes. Dawne says, “I fall completely in love with all of my dogs and as a result, I give my heart and soul to each of them.” |

When asked how she is able to get her models to pose for such wonderful photos, Dawne said, “Well, first you have to love dogs. Then, it’s a lot like taking photos of young children. They have to trust you and they have to have fun. If the dog isn’t having fun, then we don’t dress them in a costume. My guys love to dress up and pose. In fact, Poco, my Irish Setter has been posing for several years and he really loves it. When he sees me get the camera out, he stops whatever he is doing and sits pretty! Of course it also helps that the treats are pretty good too!” The picture below shows Poco, Charm, and Chance in the field. As you can see they have obviously treed something. While Charm and Chance hold their ground, Poco has spied the camera and is sitting pretty! |
